About the Wave Installation Wizard

This chapter explains how to use the Wave Installation Wizard when you are installing a new 
Wave ISM system. If you are upgrading an existing system, you cannot use the Installation 
Wizard and you should skip this chapter.

The Installation Wizard simplifies initial configuration of your Wave system by presenting a 
step-by-step walkthrough of the tasks, rather than requiring that you run the configuration 
applets individually from the Management Console. 

Installation Wizard steps include applying available HotFixes; changing default IP network 
settings; adding and activating Wave licenses; setting up extension length, extension ranges, and 
local area code information; creating users, ViewPoint Groups, and auto attendants; configuring 
trunk groups and inbound routing; setting up SIP trunking, and more.

Using the Installation Wizard is highly recommended for installers or administrators who are 
unfamiliar with the Wave ISM platform. Using the Installation Wizard is optional, and you can 
run the applets individually, if you prefer.
