r

Please read this manual carefully to become familiar with the features of this

transceiver.

r

Do not transmit the radio without an antenna connected.

r

When transmitting, hold the radio in a vertical position with its microphone 2.5

to 5 cm away from your mouth and keep the antenna at least 2.5cm away from
your head.

r

The radio must be used with a maximum operating duty cycle not exceeding

50 %, in typical Push-to-Talk (PTT) configurations. DO NOT transmit for more
than 50 % of total radio use time (50 % duty cycle). Transmitting more than
50 % of the time can cause RF exposure compliance requirements to be
exceeded.

The radio is transmitting when the red LED on the top of the radio is illuminated.
You can cause the radio to transmit by pressing the PTT button or by using the
VOX headset, if the radio is supported.

r

Always use the Vertex Standard authorized Battery Pack.

r

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used

batteries according to the instructions.

r

Perform the battery charging where the ambient temperature range 0 °C to

+45 °C. Charge out of this range could cause damage to the battery pack.

r

Battery Pack shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or

the like.

r

Always use Vertex Standard authorized accessories.

Vertex Standard shall not be liable for any damage or accidents such as fire,

an antenna gain of 0 dBd. The radio must be used in vehicle-mount configurations
with a maximum operating duty factor not exceeding 50 %, in typical Push-to-Talk
configurations.
This radio is restricted to occupational use, work related operations only where
the radio operator must have the knowledge to control the exposure conditions of
its passengers and bystanders by maintaining the minimum separation distance
shown below.

of the roof.

Warning!:

The HIGH voltage is applied to the antenna terminal of the

transceiver while transmitting.

Do not touch the TX RF section absolutely while transmitting.

Caution:

 The radio can become hot.

Do not operate the radio continuously in transmission mode for longer than
7 minutes. Ensure enough standby/reception time for cool-down between
transmission periods. Be sure that TOT timer is correctly installed and
properly working. Avoid touching the rear bottom of the transceiver’s body
while transmission.
