Ethernet Interface
The EBX-18 features two auto-detect 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet ports with RJ-45
connectors.

ONFIGURATION
The Ethernet controller resident to the Vortex86DX2 SoC can be enabled or disabled in the
BIOS Setup program. That Ethernet port is located at connector J1. Refer to Figure 5 for the
location of the J1 connector.
The second Ethernet port (accessible through connector J2) is implemented through the
LAN9513 (USB-based) device. That interface can be configured through your operating system.

ONNECTORS
Board-mounted RJ-45 connectors J1 and J2 are provided to make connections with Category 5
Ethernet cables. These connectors use IEC 61000-4-2-rated TVS components to help protect
against ESD damage. The Ethernet controller auto-detects 10BaseT/100Base-TX connectors.

Each Ethernet controller has a two-colored (green and orange) LED located next to its RJ-45
connector to provide an indication of the Ethernet status, as follows:
LED D3 provides status for Ethernet Port 0
LED D8 provides status for Ethernet Port 1
Table 25 describes the status indications for the LEDs. Figure 17
