Interfaces and Connectors

Utility I/O Connectors

A number of interfaces on the EBX-11 are grouped together and made accessible through utility
I/O connectors J4, J5, and J10. A number of cables and boards are available from VersaLogic
that provide discrete connectors for each of the interfaces; however, you may wish to create
custom cables that surface only the interfaces required by your application.

ONNECTOR

The 50-pin I/O connector (J4) incorporates the COM ports, keyboard and mouse, and the reset
button and speaker interfaces. Table 4 illustrates the function of each pin.

Note:

On Rev. 4 boards, the COM3 and COM4 connectors have a nonstandard pinout.
The RxD+ and RxD- signals are transposed. The standard pinout is shown below.
The nonstandard pinout is shown in Table 11.
