Universal Variable-Angle
Plane Fence
05P30.08
This plane fence does not limit you to right angles; it can be used to accurately and
consistently plane any angle from 45° to 135°. It attaches to the plane body with a
pair of locking knobs that can be positioned along a T-slot track to accommodate
the differing plane sizes and geometries. It can be attached to either side of the plane
(for right- or left-handed use).
The mounting holes on the body can be used with clamping knobs (sold separately) to
attach the fence to a Veritas custom bench plane or the Veritas bevel-up jointer plane.
The spring-loaded lever locks the angle setting and can be rotated out of the way after
locking. The through-holes in the fence can be used to attach a wooden guide to the
inside face of the fence.
Installation
1. Remove the front locking knob. Loosen the rear locking knob and slide it into
approximate position (about 2" in from the end of the body), then retighten it. This
will determine the location of the fence on the plane; adjust as necessary.
2. Slide the fence onto the plane body from behind until the rear locking knob is
wedged on the wing of the plane.
