USE
•
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful and
will disappear after a short time. Therefore it is recommended to let your
appliance work empty for 10 minutes before the first use.
•
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth,
then dry.
•
Close the appliance and plug into the electrical outlet. The red pilot light and the
green ready light will come on to indicate that the appliance is switched on and
heating.
•
The green ready light will go out when the cooking temperature is reached (3-5
minutes). During use, this ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply
means that the thermostat is regulating the appliance’s temperature.
•
Attention: during operation, the baking plates heat up. Pay attention not to get
burned.
•
The non-stick coating allows you not to make use of grease or oil for most foods.
For low-fat foods such as fish or vegetables, you can grease the grill plates, but if
the fish or vegetables are marinated, it is not necessary.
•
When the grill has reached the right temperature, open it by lifting the upper
plate.
•
Put the foods on the lower grill plate and close the lid.
•
Put the grease collector under the grease draining slot of the grill plate, in order
to collect the grease that might come out of the grill during use.
•
Let the foods grill 3-8 min. As all foods have a different baking time, it is impossible
to predict their exact baking time. In order to avoid overcooking, check the foods
regularly during the grilling process.
•
You can use the adjustable thermostat for choosing the temperature.
•
When the foods are ready, remove them from the grill and put them in the
appropriate dish. Do not use any sharp or metal utensils to remove them from the
grill, as this might damage the non-stick coating. Use a wooden or plastic spatula.
•
The appliance has the possibility of grilling on both heating surfaces. To use the top
plate (open to 180° as open grill), slide the lock button located on the side of the
cover and open the cover. When the cover is closed, the lock will lock itself.
•
When grilling is finished, unplug the appliance and leave it open to allow it to cool
down.
CLEANING
•
Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance to cool down.
•
Wipe the outside only with a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil
or grease enters the cooling slots.
•
Wipe the inside and the edges of the plate with a paper towel or a soft cloth.
