6- Select Call Tone
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "Tone" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the tone menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to change & hear the tone (1-8).
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
7- (De)Activate MON Function (Monitoring: boosts sensitivity ; noise might increase as well)
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "MON on?" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to activate MON.
- When the MON function is activated, only the SQ & VOL menus are accessible.
- Press the on/off key (5) to deactivate the MON function.
8- (De)Activate Scan Function
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "Scan on?" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the Scan menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to determine the scanning direction and the on/off key (5) to start scanning.
- The unit will stop for 10 seconds when it finds a channel and subcode in which transmission is taking place.
- Press the on/off (5) key to keep the current channel ; if not, the unit will scan on for the next used channel.
- Press the on/off key (5) to deactivate the Scan function at any time.
9- Communicate with another user
- Make sure you're using the same channel & subcode (see steps 1 and 2 in this chapter).
- Press the Call key to let the other unit ring its call tone, or press the PTT key to talk to the other user.
- While you're in transmitting mode, a "T" is displayed at the bottom left corner of the LCD.
- While the other person is communicating, you're in receiving mode, and an "R" is displayed.
c. FM Radio mode
Turn the unit on. If the unit is in PMR mode, press the PMR/RADIO key (2) to set it to FM radio mode.
1- Select the FM Radio Station
- In radio mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "Freq" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the frequency setup menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to change the frequency; press them for more than 1 second to activate
autoscan. When the unit finds a station, it will hold it for 10 seconds & then search on for a next station.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting (also in autoscan) & return to the main screen.
2- Adjust the Volume Setting
- In radio mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "VOL" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the volume menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to change the volume.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
3- "Return to PMR" status
- In radio mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until " PMR" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the PMR menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to select "Auto" or "Manu". "Auto" means the unit will automatically switch to
PMR mode when it receives a signal from another user. "Manu" lets the unit beep once, and during 10 seconds
the LEDs flash and a menu is displayed with the and icons: switch to PMR or stay in radio mode.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
4- PTT key
In radio mode, keep the PTT key pressed for PMR mode ; release the PTT key to return to FM radio mode.
