Don't work on any work piece that is too small to clamp in place. If you hold the work piece
with your hand, then you can't operate the tool safely.
When plugging in the power plug, make sure that the operating switch is not located in
position.
Always guide the cable away from the back of the tool.
Do not plane material that contains asbestos.
Never reach into rotating parts.
Never plane over metal objects such as nails and screws.
Never put your fingers into the chip discharge point.
7 BEFORE STARTING WORK
7.1
Dust extraction
When you use the planer you will generate dust that may be harmful. They may ignite or
explode.
Always use the dust bag supplied.
7.2
External extraction
The hose from a suitable vacuum cleaner or an Industrial extraction system may be connected
using the round adapter supplied with the planer.
8 OPERATION
8.1
Switching ON/OFF
First press the safety (release) knob and then the ON/OFF switch. Keep both pressed
whilst using the planer.
To switch off the planer release the ON/OFF switch.
The ON/OFF switch can not be blocked for safety reasons and has to be
pressed all the time.
8.2
Setting the chip distance
The chip thickness can be adjusted infinitely between 0 and 2.0 mm using the combined stop
and adjusting knob:
Turn anti-clockwise to reduce the chip thickness
Turn clockwise to increase the chip thickness.
Set the required chip thickness.
Place the base of the planer flat and firmly on the work piece. The planning blades must
not touch the work piece.
Switch on the planer and move It over the surface of the workpiece with very little
pressure.
Focus the pressure with both hands on the centre of the planer.
When planning hardwood, use a low chip thickness and repeat the planning movement
several times.
Important: To produce a perfect finish the planning blades must be sharp
and the feed must not be too high.
8.3
Mitre edges
There are V groove in the base at the front to allow simple, easy mitering.
Place the base with the selected groove in the edge of the work piece and move the planer
along the groove.
