2.6.6.2 Adjusting the wheel drive tension pulley
If you are not sufficiently technically competent, assign this task to a professional service centre.
Remove the rear upper plastic
gearbox cover
1
(on
Fig.
), to enable you to see both V-belts that drive the machine forward. Try
again to overcome the surface irregularity and visually check which, belt is slipping.
1)
If the V-belt on the right side of the machine is slipping
(
Fig. 5
Fig.
), tighten it by loosening the screw
B
on
Fig. 23
at the cable end in the direction of the arrow (away from the frame) by approximately 1 mm. Continue tightening until
the machine overcomes surface irregularities, while remaining at rest when the wheel drive clutch lever is released. If the screw
on the bowden
B
cannot be unscrewed further, screw it fully in the opposite direction to the arrow and hook the spring on the
end of the cable to the hole further away in the pulley arm. Subsequently repeat the steps for tightening the belt.
2)
If the belt is slipping between the engine and the gearbox
, tighten it using the tension pulley (
1
on
Fig. 23
). Release
the tensioner by loosening the nut on the engine plate and tighten the pulley with a suitable tool (e.g. screwdriver) in the
direction of the arrow, and tighten the nut while under tension. Subsequently check the correction operation of the wheel drive.
The belt must be replaced when you can no longer adjust the belt tensioner to prevent belt slippage.
2.6.6.3 Adjustment of the
cylinder sweeping brushes drive tension pulley
Take off the front
plastic cover
10
on
Fig.
, so that you can see the belt and sweeping cylinder drive pulley (
Fig.
).
1)
Tighten the V-belt by loosening
the screw on the bowden
A
on
Fig.
by roughly 1 mm in the direction of the arrow and
inspect the clutch operation of the tool drive clutch. Continue tightening until the belt drive begins to turn the work tool when
depressing the clutch lever approx. 1/3, while ensuring meanwhile that the
belt drive must not drift
when the work tool clutch
lever is turned off. If the screw
A
cannot be unscrewed further, screw it fully in the opposite direction to the arrow and hook the
spring on the end of the cable to the hole further away in the pulley arm. Subsequently repeat the steps for tightening the belt.
2.6.7 Replacing the V-belt
Always replace the V-belt
with a new one whenever the belt shows signs of cracking or tearing and whenever the belt is so worn that it
can no longer be tightened using tensioners.
Ensure that the belt path around all leading components is followed according to
Fig.
If you are not sufficiently technically competent, assign this task to a professional service centre.
2.6.7.1 Replacing the cylinder sweeping brushes drive V-belt
1)
Take off the front
plastic cover
10
on
Fig.
2)
Loosen the guide screw
6
on the tension pulley so that the belt
1
can be removed from the pulley.
3)
Remove the cylinder sweeping brushes drive belt
1
in
Fig.
from the pulleys and replace it with a new one.
4)
Tighten the guide screw
6
on the pulley.
2.6.7.2 Repalcing the gearbox drive V-belt
1)
Take off the front plastic cover
10
on
Fig.
2)
Remowe the rear upper and lower plastic covers
1
and
2
on
Fig.
2.4.4 Selecting the wheel drive
point
.
3)
Remove the V-belt of the cylinder sweeping brushes drive
1
in
Fig.
from the drive pulley on the engine.
4)
Loosen the idler pulley
1
on the engine plate –
Fig.
5)
Remove the gearbox drive V-belt
2
on
Fig.
from the pulley and replace by a new one.
6)
Tension and tighten the idler pulley
1
in
Fig.
7)
Fit back the cylinder sweeping brushes drive V-belt
1
in
Fig.
and refit
both covers.
2.6.7.3 Replacing the axle drive V-belt
Due to the weight of the machine carry out the replacement with the assistance of another person who will support the
machine after the wheels and axles are dismantled.
1)
Remove the rear upper and lower plastic covers
1
and
2
on
Fig. 7
2.4.4 Selecting the wheel drive
point
.
Further according to
Fig. 25
2)
Remove the axle drive V-belt
1
from both pulleys and slide it toward the left side of the machine.
3)
Remove both wheels
2
and
3
in
Fig. 25
from the axle
4
.
4)
Remove the nuts
5
in
Fig.
holding the bearing bodies on both sides of the axle and lower the axle
4
down.
5)
Press the V-belt
1
together as much as possible until it touches the axle shaft
4
. Pull it through the slot in the side plastic
cover
6
.
6)
Fit a new V-belt in the frame in reverse steps.
7)
Tighten the axle to the frame, attach and secure the wheels to the axle as shown in
Fig.
2 - 4)
, attach the belt on both pulleys
2.4.4 Selecting the wheel drive speed
and refit both covers.
8)
Set the drive pulley according to the process in Chapter
2.6.6.2 Adjusting the wheel drive tension pulley.
69
Use exclusively genuine replacement parts. Proper gear function cannot be guaranteed when using V-belts from different manufacturers.
