2.3.2 Description of machine and its components
The base of the CB-80 sweeping brush (on
Fig. 1
) consists of a welded steel frame 1 made of profiled sheet metal, used for mounting
all important parts of the machine. The handlebars 2 are attached to the frame by screwed connection 3 and are height-adjustable
into six positions. All control elements ( 4 , 5 and 6 ) for safe operation of the machine are ergonomically placed on the handlebars.
The handles 7 are to be firmly grasped to control the machine during operation. The travel clutch lever 4 , is positioned on the left
side of the handlebar, which controls the movement of the machine forward. The clutch lever of the drive 5 of the working implement
is positioned on the right side, and is used to turns ON (OFF) the drive of the working implement. The engine revolutions 8 are controlled
with accelerator lever 6 . The snow thread pattern wheels 9 of the machine are powered through a worm gear, which ensures smooth
power transfer onto the wheels through a belt clutch (machine starts without jerks). The cylinder sweeping brushes’ transmission and
driving parts are protected by plastic covers 10 and 11 . A rotatably mounted worm gearbox 12 of the cylinder sweeping
brushes 13 drive is mounted in front part of the frame, and is provided with a mudguard 14 installed over the cylinder sweeping
brushes. The gearbox is turnable to sides from the operator’s position with five locking positions using a turning lever 15 . The cylinder
sweeping brushes 13 are fitted with eight rows of spirally arranged bristles. The pressure of the bristles to the surface is set with a
height adjustable and freely rotating support wheel 16 , the height adjustment is carried out with spacers 17 in 1,6 mm steps
interposed between the wheel fork and the machine frame.
The OR-80 dozer blade, the BS-80 collector and the AP-80 dust screen are attached by sliding the guides 18 on the carrier plate of
the mudguard bracket 14 .
The steel weldment of the OR-80 dozer blade 19 is provided with a reaction strut 20 which is inserted into the space between the
cylinder sweeping brushes and rests on the gearbox of their drive. The supporting wheels 21 ensure that a gap of approx. 2 cm
between the edge of the blade and the ground is maintained.
A tubular frame of the BS-80 collector 22 supports a plastic collecting container 23 fitted with two rubber sealing strips 24
and four freely rotating guide wheels 25 . Lifting of the collector is possible from the operator’s position using a rod 26 .
The AP-80 dust screen is made of plastic canvas 27 , mounted on a wire frame 28 .
