CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Always wear safety goggles that comply with ANSI standard Z87.1 when

cleaning spray guns.

Always wear a OSHA/NIOSH approved respirator and approved protective

clothing designed for use with the specific solvents being used.

Always exercise extreme care when using ay solvent or thinner. Never

clean gun near fire, flame, electrical equipment, or any source of heat or

sparks.

DO NOT soak entire spray gun in solvent or thinner for a long period of

time as this will destroy lubricants and possibly make motion uneven.

NEVER use lye or caustic alkaline solution for cleaning. Such solutions will

attack and degrade aluminum alloy parts of gun making it unusable.

DAILY CLEANING

Clean spray gun immediately after use. Paint and other spray materials dry

quickly in the small passages of the gun rendering it unusable due to the

difficulty of removing hardened paint from the passages inside the gun.

Local codes may not allow the spraying of paint thinner or solvents. Use

a gun washer to clean spray guns in accordance with local codes. Follow

manufacturer’s instructions for proper use of cleaning equipment and

materials. Dispose of used cleaning materials in accordance with local,

state and national regulations.

Shut off air supply to paint tank and release pressure in the tank

1. Release pressure in the paint cup and then Empty the Paint Cup and clean it with the solvent.

2. Fill the Paint Cup with solvent and spray it through the Gun into a container, while shaking the gun.

Once the Paint Cup is empty, repeat the process until the solvent spray is clean.

3. Disconnect from the air source.  After disconnecting, be aware that air pressure may still remain in

the Spray Gun.  Point the Gun into the spent solvent container and squeeze the Trigger again to

make sure no air remains.

4. Remove the Air Cap and soak it in solvent until it is clean. Use an old toothbrush and toothpicks to

remove any material. Do not use metal objects to clean the Air Cap or you may damage the drilled

passages. Inspect the fluid needle and make sure it is not bent.  If it is bent, have it replaced by a

certified service technician.

Do not immerse the Spray Gun Body in solvent. Serious damage may

occur.

5. Use the appropriate solvent for the material sprayed to wipe down the Gun body.

6. Always lubricate the Spray Gun after cleaning. Use a non-silicon oil or a light lubricant on all

threaded connections prior to storing the unit.

7. After cleaning your Spray Gun, properly dispose of your cleaning solutions according to the solution

manufacturer's direction and local hazardous waste standards.
