6. Install the pilot shield supplied with the kit if none
was already installed or if di
ff
erent than the one
installed (2 screws).
Replace the Minimum Rate Bypass Screw
1. Turn module plate assembly upside down, unlock
and remove pipe assembly from valve.
2. Remove two screws holding valve to valve mount to
turn the valve upsidedown. The other connections
to the valve will allow you clearance to complete the
following steps.
Be extremely careful not to dam-
age the thermocouple and the pilot light leads!
3. Locate and remove the bypass screw from the valve
and discard (this screw may be covered by a sticker).
Note:
The bypass screw may require either a
fl
at
head screwdriver or an Allen key depending on its
type.
The bypass screw has a rubber O-ring and may
need to be carefully pulled out using pliers after
unscrewing.
4. Insert the replacement minimum rate bypass screw
and hand-tighten using a screwdriver/Allen key.
Refer to the
Speci
fi
cations
table on page 1 for proper
bypass screw; the number is stamped on the barrel
of the screw.
5. Remount the valve on the valve mount (2 screws).
6. Reconnect the pipe assembly to the valve ensuring
the connection is gastight. Check pilot pipe, thermo-
couple and interruptor block to ensure they are still
tight after valve handling.
Note :
Thermocouple/Interruptor block only require
to be hand-tight plus 1/4 turn - do NOT tighten too
much since they are not gas connections.
