The
user port
is wired to the 8-pin M12 connector in the
instrument base that houses the barometer, and is used when
communicating with the MI70 indicator. The user port settings and
startup mode are configurable.
When you need to access the serial line of the PTB330, it is
recommended that you use the service port. The user port is reserved for
communication with the MI70 indicator, and changing its serial
communication settings will break the communication with the MI70
indicator.
Service Port Connection
1.
Turn the tabletop casing over and open the four screws on the
barometer cover. Open the cover.
2.
Connect the serial interface cable (optional accessory, order code:
219685) between a USB port on your PC and the service port
connector on the motherboard. See
location of the service port.
If this is the first time you use the cable, you must first install the
necessary driver on your PC; see section
.
3.
Open a terminal application and set the communication settings as
shown in
If you need a terminal application, you can download the PuTTY
terminal application for Windows at
www.vaisala.com
.
Instructions for using the application are included in the
installation package.
4.
Check that the MI70 indicator is connected to the M12 connector
of the barometer, and turn on the MI70 indicator. After power-up
the barometer outputs the software version and the command
prompt.
