2 Safety instructions and
regulations
The interface may only be be installed by an
installer in accordance with the gas safety
regulations (installation and operation) of
1998. In the United Kingdom, ‘CORGI’ regis-
tered installers carry out the installation in
compliance with safety and customer satis-
faction standards. Vaillant accepts no liability
for any damage caused by failure to observe
these instructions.
2.1 Safety instructions

Risk of fatal electric shock from
touching live connections. Before per-
forming work on the device, switch
off the power supply and secure it
against being switched on again.
Using the mains switch on the boiler
is not sufficient to isolate all termi-
nals on the system.
2.2 Regulations
All wiring must be carried out by an appropri-
ately qualified person in compliance with the
Building Regulations, Part P and BS 7671
(IEE Wiring Regulations). Use commercially
available cable. The maximum cable length
between the VR 34 and the BEMS 0-10 V con-
troller is 6 m.
