8.5 Maintenance work steps
• Carry out proper regular maintenance once a year.
No.
Activity
1
Check the filling pressure of the heating system (button
“-”) Top up if necessary (section 6.4.1).
2
Check the air flue gas system for leaks and for proper
fixation and ensure it is not blocked or damaged and is
fitted correctly, complying with the relevant installation
instructions.
3
Carry out a general inspection of the boiler for dirt and
dust and clean as necessary. Ensuring air filters are
clean or replaced.
4
Visually inspect the complete heat engine for its general
condition and for signs of corrosion, sooting or other
forms of damage.
5
Isolate the boiler from the power mains. Check the elec-
trical wiring and the other electrical connections are fit-
ted tightly and are secure (correct them if necessary).
6
Close the gas isolator cock.
7
Check and clean as necessary condensate collector, si-
phon, air filters flue gas paths and combustion chamber.
Clean the combustion fan and air pathways. Replace nec-
essary gaskets.
Check the condensate trough, replace as gaskets as nec-
essary.
Check the burner, electrodes and inspection opening re-
place parts /gaskets as necessary.
Check heat exchanger for damage .
See section 8.5 to 8.11
Refit all components and ensure all wires and connec-
tions replaced.
8
Open the gas isolator cock, reconnect the boiler with the
power mains and switch on the boiler.
9
Perform a test operation of the boiler and heating instal-
lation, including water heating and bleed if necessary.
10
Check the boiler for leaks of any kind (gas, flue gas,
water, condensate) and rectify as necessary.
11
Check the function of the quick vent system.
12
Visual check of safety valve, Is the outlet visible and
without ensure no dripping water.
Check the pipe work between the boiler and the safety
valve is secure and correct.
13
Measure the gas flow rate during operation with maxi-
mum load .
Compare the gas flow rate with the values from the table
6.5
14
Check the gas inlet working pressure operation with
maximum load.
Check if the gas inlet working pressure complies to the
table 6.4.
15
Check the combustion by measuring CO
2
and CO in full-
and minimum load.
If the values are outside the tolerances of table 8.1. Pro-
ceed to chapter 8.4.
16
Check siphon and condensate drain for leaks.
17
Check function of regulator (hot water/heating).

Cleaning the condensate collector
1
Fig. 8.1 Cleaning the condensate collector
• Remove the front section of the boiler casing.
• Remove the cover on the inspection opening
(
1
, Fig. 8.1).
• Check the water condensate collector for dirt contam-
ination and clean if required with a scraper.
• Check the gasket on the inspection opening for dam-
age before re-assembly. If required, a new gasket
should be fitted.
8.7 Cleaning
the
siphon
• Remove the boiler casing.
h
Note
Condensate can escape while the drain hoses
are being pulled off.
