Remove the ignition cable plug

and the earth cable

from the ignition electrode.

Remove the plug

from the fan motor by pressing on
the locking lug.
10. Remove the plug

from the gas valve.
11. Remove the plug

from the Venturi jet by pressing on
the locking lug.
12. Undo the four nuts

13. Pull the compact thermal module's assembly group

out of the heat exchanger.
14. Check the burner and the heat exchanger for damage
and dirt.
15. If necessary, clean or replace the components accord-
ing to the following sections.
16. Fit a new burner door seal.
17. Check the heat insulation on the burner door. If you
notice any signs of damage, replace the heat insulation.
9.7
Cleaning the heat exchanger

Protect the folded-down electronics box against
sprayed water.

The four nuts on the threaded pins

must never be
loosened or tightened.

Clean the heating coil

on the heat exchanger
(3)
using water or, if required, vinegar (maximum 5% acid).
Allow the vinegar to act on the heat exchanger for
20 minutes.

Rinse away any loose dirt with a sharp jet of water or
use a plastic brush. Do not point the water jet directly
at the heat insulation

on the back of the heat ex-
changer.

The water flows via the condensate siphon and out
of the heat exchanger.

Checking the burner

Check the surface of the burner

for damage. If you
see any damage, replace the burner.

Cleaning the condensate siphon

Remove the lower section of the siphon
(1)
by turning
the bayonet fitting anti-clockwise.
2.
Flush the lower section of the condensate siphon with
water.
3.
Fill the lower section with water up to about 10 mm be-
low the upper edge.
4.
Screw the lower section back onto the condensate si-
phon.
