Hitching point for hydraulic arms
Low hitching point
Figure 2.6
A low hitching point provides a good lifting height in areas where there are features such as turn
strips.
A low hitching point distributes a significant proportion of the weight to the tractor and reduces
the working weight of the implement. This in turn leads to a reduction in slippage, which can be
a major benefit in fields with light soil types.
NOTE!
In some instances, using a low hitching point may preclude the possibility of lowering the
tool sufficiently to allow it to be parked in transport mode. In such instances, the implement must
be set to working mode and the hydraulic arms moved to a higher hitching point on the implement.
High hitching point
Figure 2.7
With a high hitching point, a larger proportion of the weight is distributed to the implement during
operation. This is beneficial where ground conditions are very hard and it may be difficult to pen-
etrate the surface of the soil with the discs.
NOTE!
In some instances, using a high hitching point may result in there being insufficient ground
clearance for driving in transport mode. In such instances, the implement must be set down on a
flat, stable base and the hydraulic arms moved to a lower hitching point on the implement.
NOTE!
Check the transport height! This particularly applies to CRX 625. In some countries, there
is a maximum transport height of 4m.
