4. PROFIBUS FIELDBUS BOARD LAYOUT AND CONNECTIONS
The Vacon Pr ofibus Fieldbus Boar d is connected to the fieldbus thr ough either a 5- pin pluggable bus
connector (boar d OPT- C3) or a 9- pin female sub- D- connector (boar d OPT- C5). The communication
with the contr ol boar d takes place thr ough the standar d Vacon Inter face Boar d Connector .
NOTE! The OPT- C3/C5 option boar d has two har dwar e ver sions. These two har dwar e ver sions have
differ ent layout, gr ounding settings, fir mwar e packages and they use differ ent tool s for fir mwar e up-
dating. The OPT- C3/C5 har dwar e ver sion number can be r ead fr om the bott om side on the bott om left
of the option boar d PCB (see Figur e 4- 1).

NOTE! FW0232 is designed to be compatibl e with the 10502 fir mwar e. Only differ ence is that Vacon
Loader must be used for fir mwar e update.
Vacon Loader is suppor ted in the NX pr oducts which use fir mwar e mentioned in Tabl e 4- 2. Older NX
fir mwar e ver sions suppor t only the NCLoad t ool , and ther efor e updating of the PC01294 OPT- C3/C5
fir mwar e is not possibl e unless the NX fir mwar e is updated.
