How induction hobs function
Induction hobs have a quick reaction time, allow precision cooking, are powerful,
economical and safe.
They work in a very different way to conventional hobs or solid plates. The induction
coils under the glass ceramic plate produce a rapidly changing magnetic field which
directly heats up the magnetic base of the cookware.
The glass ceramic plate remains relatively cool as it only receives heat from the hot
cookware.
Removing the cookware from the cooking zone immediately interrupts the supply of
energy.
Cooking zone
Residual heat indicator
After the cooking zone is switched off,
remains illuminated in the display as long
as a burn hazard exits.
Induction hobs require cookware with a magnetic base.
The diameter of the magnetic base of the cookware should correspond to the
diameter of the cooking zone in order to achieve the greatest energy absorp-
tion and the best possible heat distribution in the cookware.
