4 Operating the appliance
4.1 Using for the first time
Configuring the appliance
The model can be used to extract or recirculate air. The appliance is set up as
a recirculation hood with 5 kg of activated charcoal ex-factory. With this set-
ting, the service life of the activated charcoal filter is 1,200 operating hours.
The operating hours count must be configured for the version of the range
hood with 2.5 kg of activated charcoal. The saturation indicator can also be
adjusted to your cooking habits.
Amount of activated charcoal used
► Remove the grease filters (see 'Clean-
ing the grease filters').
– For the length of the motor hous-
ing, see on the inside (see arrow).
Short motor housing = 2.5 kg activated charcoal
Long motor housing = 5 kg activated charcoal
Activating and changing the saturation indicator for the activated charcoal
filters
► Switch the appliance off.
► Depress the button for 3 seconds.
– The and displays flash.
► Press the button repeatedly until the desired setting illuminates in the dis-
play.
– The setting selected will be automatically accepted after 5 seconds.
The range hood is now set up as a recirculation model.
