base unit remains on constantly in all modes. The light is switched off again by a prolonged

press (> 2 sec.) in each mode (Fig. 6). The battery charge status is shown by a status LED

(Fig. 14) for 3 seconds when the LED light is switched on and off.

3. Charging the battery:

To charge the battery, proceed according to Fig. 14 to 19, which describe the battery’s

charging process. The XB055 ED has a micro USB connection on the back of the base unit

(Fig.15). Point 5 describes exactly how to remove and remount the base unit. First open the

lights micro USB cover (Fig. 16) by carefully pushing the micro USB cover upwards. It is

now possible to move the micro USB cover to one side and see the micro USB connection

(Fig. 16). The included USB charging cable (Fig. 2) can be plugged in here with the proper

orientation (Fig. 17 & 18) and the battery charged with a standard charger (5 V - 2 mA). The

charging status is shown by the status LED (Fig. 19).

Follow the steps in reverse order after charging. Make sure that the micro USB cover (Fig.

16) properly clicks into the opening provided for it. When the battery is fully charged, the light

will last for approx. 6 hours with a steady light and up to 12 hours with a flashing light.

4. NOTE:

Please note that the LED light’s battery may fail or lose its charge. Therefore, check regularly

that the light is working properly. It is important for parents to make sure that their child also

checks regularly that the LED light is working properly. The LED light is not a toy and may

only be used by children while under adult supervision.

5. Removing and remounting the LED base unit

Removing and remounting the LED base unit is possible without a great deal of force, as it is

held magnetically in the helmet’s built-in holder.

5.1. Removing the base unit

The LED base unit is removed from the holder by inserting a finger under the gripping recess

(Fig. 7) and moving it outwards (Fig. 8) until the three-pole plug (Fig. 9) is readily visible. The

LED control electronic device can then be completely removed from the holder by sliding it to

the right (Fig. 10). The micro USB charging connection is found on the back of the electronic

device.

5.2. Mounting the base unit

To correctly mount the LED base unit, the spring on the right side of the base (Fig. 11, 12) is

inserted into the groove on the right side of the holder. The LED base unit can then be moved

downwards into the holder, and it is held in place magnetically (Fig. 13).

NOTE:

When mounting the base unit, make sure that the contacts of the three-pole plug are

also inserted into the sockets on the back of the LED base unit.

6. Symbols on the helmet and plug-in:

The following information/symbols are found inside the helmet and on the plug-in.

•

Fig. 24: IP 44 protection class: The IP protection classes specify the extent to which an

electrical component can be exposed to environmental influences without becoming

damaged or constituting a safety risk. This light is in the IP 44 protection class and is

thus protected against solid foreign objects 1.0 mm in diameter and larger. It offers

protection against splash water.
