Before taking this product, familiarize yourself
with all operating features and safety require-
ments.

4. 9 VOLT ALKALINE BATTERY.
5. ON/OFF SWITCH.
6. ELECTRONIC PROBE ASSEMBLY.

• Be sure a good battery is installed. To ins-
tall a new battery, slide the cover on the
Electronic Probe Assembly and plug a 9 Volt
Alkaline Battery into the electrical connec-
tor. Insert battery into compartment and
slide cover back on until it is firmly in place.
• Plug headset wire into female recep-
tacle
on
Electronic
Probe
Assembly.
• Place headset firmly over the ears to block
outside noises. Cushioned ear cups ad-
just up and down for maximum comfort.
• Rotate switch to “on” with volume in low
setting. LED illuminates when unit is “on”.
• Place microphone tip on the sur-
face of the object to be measured.
• Adjust volume slowly until the desi-
red sound effect is reached. Further ro-
tation
of
wheel
increases
sensitivity.
• To minimize the effect of external noises, keep
the microphone flush against the suspect part.
• Rotate switch to “off” when testing is complete.
LED will no longer illuminate when unit is “off”.
NOTE: Electronic interference may be heard
around high energy ignition components.
