The TRC-1280, in use
Settings, Configuration and Usage Tips
Once programmed, the TRC-1280 will communicate with devices using IP over Wi-Fi. Through the MRX-10
Advanced Network System Controller the TRC-1280 will be remotely programed. That means you will be able
to make system configuration changes from remote locations, such as your office.
The MRX-10 stores, issues and keeps track of all commands and macros for all IP, IR, RS-232, Relay and sensor
controlled devices on the network. It also provides two-way feedback to the TRC-1280. Song artist
information and album artwork from the PSX-2 and SNP-1 are among the many two-way features the TRC-1280
offers. The TRC-1280 also supports third party two-way modules. In addition, the TRC-1280 provides users
with the ability to set their own event timers, sleep timers, and alarm timers. (See MRX-10 section of the Total
Control Installation Manual for MRX-10 setup details).
Since multiple TRC-1280s can be installed in a whole house system (up to 32) it may be necessary to provide
extra range for communication in large estates. Remember, since the TRC-1280 is a Wi-Fi device, this is as
simple as extending the range of the wireless network. Using Wi-Fi repeaters and range extenders are the most
reliable way to achieve this result.
