professional to fine-tune the hearing aids
better for your needs.

Involve your family and friends in this
familiarization period. For example,
ask someone to set the television to a
comfortable volume.

When you are beginning to get used to
wearing the hearing aids, wear them in more
difficult listening environments such as the
office, at parties or in restaurants. This can
be difficult even for people who can hear
normally. Give yourself time to regain your
ability to hear in these difficult situations.

Make your hearing aids part of your everyday
life and be patient with yourself while you are
learning to hear sounds correctly.
Tinnitus masker
Unitron’s tinnitus masker is a broadband
sound generator available on the Unitron North
hearing aid platform. It provides a means of
sound enrichment therapy that can be used as
part of a personalized tinnitus management
program to provide temporary relief from
