Preparing for use
Place the strip cut shredder onto a suitable con-
tainer.
Place the wide end of the appliance on the
edge of the container. Then pull the telescopic
arm

out sufficiently to ensure that this also
sits securely on the edge of the container.
Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
Operation
Note:
You can shred up to 5 sheets of DIN A4
paper (80 g / m
2
) at the same time.
Note:
Remove all paper clips or staples before
feeding the paper into the cutter opening

. Oth-
erwise the cutting mechanism may be damaged.
Switching the appliance into the Fwd
mode:
For continuous shredding set the switch

to
the ‘Fwd’ (forward) position.
Note:
The appliance runs continuously. Insert the
paper from above and in portrait format into the
cutter opening

Note:
Be aware of the 2 minute operating time.
Switching the appliance into the Auto
mode:
For automatic shredding set the switch
1
to
the ‘Auto’ position. The motor starts automati-
cally when the paper is inserted and switches
itself off automatically if no further paper is in-
serted.
Note:
Always insert smaller pieces of paper cen-
trally in the middle of the cutter opening

. The
contact which starts the cutting process is located
there.
Clearing a material blockage:
Slide the switch
1
into the ‘Rev’ position
(reverse) should the paper become jammed.
Clear the paper feed of paper debris by
means of the ‘Fwd’ (forward) running.
Slide the switch into the ‘Auto’ position.
Reduce the amount of paper per feed to be
shredded and continue with the shredding
process.
Switching the appliance off:
When you have finished using the appliance,
always remove the plug from the mains power
socket.
Note regarding overheating of the
appliance:
If it overheats, the appliance switches off automati-
cally.
Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
Empty the container.
Allow the appliance to cool down.
Replace the power plug in the socket.
Switch the appliance on by setting the switch
1
in the ‘Auto’ position.
Cleaning and care

SHOCK!
Always remove the power plug
before cleaning the appliance.
CAUTION!
The cutting blades in the appli-
ance are very sharp! Injury hazard!
Under no circumstances should you use liquids
or detergents, as these will damage the device.
Do not use solvents, petrol etc.
Clean the outside of the appliance only with a
soft, slightly moist cloth.
Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
Remove any remnants that may be present in the
cutter opening

or in the cutting blades with
a suitable object, such as a pair of tweezers.
