4. Query URL
For every scanned barcode, the PC55 Colour sends a query URL with the requested
barcode information to the web server. The Web-Price-Checker uses tag-variables
in the URL for this, like for example:
http://www.i-rk.nl/PC55ColourDemoWebPriceChecker/{@BARCODE}
When scanning an EAN-13 barcode 5029053021454 on the PC55 Colour , the URL
request with variables,
{@PC55C}
and
{@BARCODE}
will be reformatted and send
to the web server as:
http://www.i-rk.nl/PC55ColourDemoWebPriceChecker/5029053021454
Note that the sequence of the variables
{@BARCODE}
and
{@SG15C}
in the
specified URL, must match with the search path on the web server.
This URL refers to a local file with error message which you can customize. Using
a local file as URL for error message has the advantage that an error message is
also displayed when the web server is not responding i.e. offline.
4. Allow URL barcodes
This feature is useful for scanning 2D-barcodes on products or leaflets with 2D-
barcodes that represent a URL referring directly to a site on the internet or
intranet. When this feature is ON and your PC55
Colour is equipped with a
2Dscanengine (or alternatively: a 2D handscanner connected to the USB port),
then scanning the QR-code below will show the following response on the display:
