Trapped bills and/or debris can result in poor bill acceptance or frequent rejection of bills.
Follow the simple steps below for cleaning the bill validator.

Remove the bill stacker from the lower housing.
38.
Clean the plastic parts of the bill path with a mild soap and water solution.
39.
Clean the magnetic head and Optic sensors using cotton swab and isopropyl
alcohol (Unitec Part # MS2033). This part is also available through Clean Team at
1-800-888-8830.

The MAG52BAB bill validator will accept all or any combination of $1, $2, $5, $10, and $20
bills. It allows programming for a maximum-security setting, as well as a setting for a specified
direction that a bill can be inserted. These options are set by a DIP switch package located
on the tower control board, and have a factory default setting of:
1-4 OFF & 5-8 ON.
This
pattern indicates a standard level of acceptance security, bills are allowed in any direction
and $20 bills are not accepted. To change any of the options, follow the steps below.

Remove the bill validator from the unit.

Remove the bill stacker from the validator.

Referring to Table 21 below, use a small flat-head screwdriver to set the DIP-
switches for the options you prefer.
