Key Beep
Key Beep is the tone sounded after a key press.
1. Press
[MENU].
2. Scroll down the list to
Key Beep
and press
[MENU]
.
3. Scroll to select ON or OFF.
4. Save the setting by pressing and holding
[MENU]
.
5. Press & hold
[MENU]
again, or press
[PTT]
, to exit menu mode.
Backlight (Timer)
The display backlight is set by default to remain on for 10 seconds
whenever there is a key press, or incoming signal.
To change the Backlight Timer time:
1. Press
[MENU].
2. Scroll down the list to
Key Beep
and press
[MENU]
.
3. Scroll to select ON or OFF.
4. Save the setting by pressing and holding
[MENU]
.
5. Press & hold
[MENU]
again, or press
[PTT]
, to exit menu mode.
NOTE
Changing the Backlight timer will affect the battery operating
time (see
Battery Level Display
, page 10). For optimum
battery oprating time, avoid turning the backlight timer to
ON (always on), and instead select a moderate duration.

Key Lock
To prevent accidental entries, you can lock the keypad. Only
[PTT]
and
[ON/OFF VOL]
are accessible when Key Lock is activated.
Press and hold
[LOCK]
until it beeps to activate or deactivate Key Lock.
