PROPER OPERATION
3-1
To operate the lift truck safely and get the most out of it, correct
procedures are described on the following pages:
DURING BREAK-IN
We recommend to operate the truck under light load conditions for
the first stage of operation to get the most from it. Especially, the
requirements given below should be observed while the truck is in
a stage of 200 hours of operation.
Always warm up your truck before putting it into work
regardless of the seasons.
Perform specified preventive maintenance services
carefully and completely.
Never “race” or play games with the truck. Avoid
sudden stops, starts or turns.
Oil changes and lubrication are recommended to do
earlier than specified.
Do not run the engine needlessly at high rpm without
load.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LOAD AND
STABILITY OF TRUCK
The lift truck keeps a balance of weight between the truck and the
load on the forks with the center of the front wheels as a fulcrum
when the rated capacity load is placed in position.
Due care should be paid to the weight and the load’s center of
gravity to maintain stability.
If the rated capacity is exceeded, there is a danger of the rear
wheels being raised and in the worst case, the truck will turn
over, resulting in a fatal accident. The load placed near the fork
tips practically has the same effect that the weight of the load
is increased. In this case, the load weight must be reduced
accordingly.
