Mirage M-‐125 / M-‐115 Operating & Maintenance Instructions
5
6.
Confirm electrical sprinkler actuation and operation once all connections to the
control system have been completed.
6.0 Winterizing
Prior to the beginning of frost or the onset of winter, the sprinkler should be drained of as
much residual water as possible.
1.
Using an air compressor, displace as much residual water in the mainline and sub-‐
lateral piping systems as possible. Open the sprinkler head manually and allow
water and air to bleed from the system. Stop applying compressed air, only after air
and no water is observed exiting the sprinkler nozzle.
2.
Some systems maybe designed with automatic drain valves that may be winterized
by gravity.
3.
After the water source has been closed and all residual water has been purged from
the mainline, sub-‐laterals and sprinkler head, operate the sprinkler head manually
from the control product at least 4-‐5 times for short periods of time (less than 1
minute) so that any remaining water can be flushing from the solenoid plunger
chambers.
4.
During the winter it is recommended to activate the solenoid for about 1 minute 2
times a week.
7.0 Maintenance
1.
Clean the interior cavity of the sprinkler body with an industrial vacuum or similar
device on an annual basis or sooner depending on the application.
2.
Clean around the outer edge of the sprinkler body from overgrown grass in natural
turf applications. This may require monthly inspection and cleaning depending on
the season and turf species.
8.0 Inspection and Disassembly
The Mirage M-‐125 / M-‐115 series sprinklers are represent 7 major subassemblies noted as
follows:
1.
Lid or cover to the internal impact drive assembly,
2.
The main nozzle assembly – The size is molded into the side of the main nozzle and
in threaded into the impact drive assembly with a ¾” socket. Main nozzles for the
M-‐125 / M-‐115 are 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, 14.0, 15.0, 16.0 and 17.50.
3.
The internal impact drive subassembly
4.
The upper portion of the sprinkler body,
5.
The solenoid and/or decoder chamber,
6.
The lower portion of the sprinkler body,
7.
The foot valve and bottom inlet screen subassembly.
Figure 6.1 identifies these subassemblies.
