advise the client of the next appropriate steps

The healthcare provider is responsible for communicating the test results and

providing advice to the client.

Confidentiality

Healthcare providers should ensure that the requirements of the Data Protection Act
1998 for data collection and use are complied with. Information obtained in the
course of professional activities is confidential and should be disclosed only with the
consent of the patient other than in specific circumstances.
