Setting the Baudot code

The Superprint 4425 is set to use whichever code it needs to
answer a call, but you can set the unit so that it will only use
Baudot code. When you do, the Superprint 4425 will not try to
use other codes. Follow these steps:
1.
Press the code key (
+
). You will see CODE
(AUTOMATIC) on the display.
2.
Press the
to change the setting to BAUDOT.
3.
Press the
key. You will see BAUDOT (AUTO) BAUD on
the display.
4.
Press the
to choose one of the following settings:
• AUTO to automatically use either 45.5 baud or Turbo Code.
This setting will use Turbo Code if the other machine is
equipped with Turbo Code.
• 45 to use only 45.5 baud Baudot. Most Baudot TTYs use 45.
• 50 to use only 50 baud Baudot. TTYs purchased in Australia,
New Zealand, or South Africa use 50 baud.
5.
Press the
key. You will see BAUDOT CODE ON on the
display.
Both the code and the Baudot baud rate return to automatic when
you hang up or turn off the Superprint 4425.
Optional ASCII code
+
ASCII stands for American Standard Code for Information
Interchange. Some TTYs and all computers in the United States
and Canada use ASCII code. If you use ASCII, you may need to
change some options. The options you can change are as follows:
Originate/answer
determines which machine is calling and which
one is answering. This usually happens automatically. If the
connection is difficult to make, you can change the option
yourself. The default is originate.
