3. Connect your source:
If using a microphone
Connect your microphone to the 1173 mic input (on the rear of the unit).
If your microphone requires phantom power, turn it on. (+48 switch to right position)
Choose the desired input (DI, Line, Mic)
Connect the output of the 1173 to the line level input of your audio interface, mixer, or recorder.
Play an instrument or sing into the microphone and increase the Gain control (by turning
clockwise) until the desired level is shown on the meters in your recording software, mixer, or
recorder.
What if I’m not sure what level is “desired”? A good “rough” rule is to have the meters light up
about ¾ of the way during normal use. If peak indicators light up or the meters show full level,
then turn gain down.
The gain control changes in 5dB increments, if you need smaller adjustments, adjust the
output level.
Adjust your mic position for optimal sound.
