Where
should
Gas
&
Carbon
Monoxide
Detectors
be
fitted?
Combined
Gas
&
Carbon
Monoxide
(CO)
detectors
should
be
fitted
in
all
rooms
with
a
fuel
burning
appliance
such
as
a
boiler
or
gas
cooker
and
where
a
lot
of
time
is
spent
e.g.
the
kitchen
or
living
room.
They
should
not
be
fitted
in
the
bathroom
or
areas
subject
to
steam,
damp
or
humidity.
Choosing
a
Location
The
combined
gas
&
CO
detector
should
be
wall
mounted
in
the
highest
part
of
the
room,
approx
300mm
from
the
ceiling
and
between
1
and
5
metres
from
the
appliance.
The
combined
gas
&
CO
detector
should
not
be
located
inside
a
cupboard,
behind
a
curtain,
directly
above
the
cooker
or
sink,
next
to
a
door
or
window
or
near
an
extractor
fan.
The
combined
gas
&
CO
detector
should
be
within
5
metres
of
a
mains
socket
otherwise
the
cable
provided
will
need
extending.
Typical

Be
careful
when
using
step
ladders
–
always
face
the
direction
you
are
working.
Always
make
sure
the
correct
drill
bits
and
screwdrivers
are
used.
Installation
1.
Fix
the
mounting
plate
complete
with
detector
to
the
wall
using
the
screws
and
plugs
provided
through
FIXING
HOLES
“
A
”.
2.
Run
the
mains
lead
to
the
nearest
socket
and
secure
using
the
self
adhesive
cable
clips
provided.
3.
Plug
‐
in
and
switch
on
the
mains
supply
–
the
GREEN
ON
light
will
FLASH
for
about
2
minutes
during
the
sensor
warm
‐
up
period.
4.
When
the
GREEN
ON
light
goes
steady
the
unit
is
operating
normally.
