Ensure that the correct grade of lubricating oils is used and that they are replenished and 

changed at the recommended intervals.

Fit new sealing rings when the filter elements are changed.

Watch the oil pressure gauge or warning light and investigate any abnormality immediately.

Keep the radiator filled with clean water and in cold weather use anti-freeze mixture.         

Drain  the system only in an emergency and fill before starting the engine.
