Assembly of the Chainrings:
Depending on the configuration different chainrings and chainring screws are mounted.
•
The KXX and KXX1– chainring screws (MTB double hole circle Ø120 and Ø104 mm respectively Ø76
mm) must be locked with a medium strength thread locker (such as Loctite 243).
•
All the other chainring screws are greased.
•
Aluminium chainring screws must be tightened with a torque of 5-6 Nm, titanium chainring screws with
a torque of 10-11 Nm.
•
Please pay attention to the given torques as well the tip for retightening!
Pedal Assembly:
•
Place the enclosed copper washer between crank arm and pedal. This helps later when disassembling
and prevents damage of the eye of the crank.
•
Grease the thread thoroughly.
•
Maximum torque for the pedals is 25 Nm!
Disassembly
Disassembly of the Crank:
•
Release the clamping screws of the left crank arm, completely remove the lock nut wit a cassette lockring
tool and remove the left crank arm. Use the enclosed tool (part number WZ0903) for bracing the clamping
of the crank arm.
• Then pull out the crank assembly from the right of the bottom bracket. Do not hit directly on the spline,
instead use a rubber mallet or plastic hammer or a suitable tool.
Disassembly of the crank spider:
• The MTB crank spider is kept in place with a lock ring which is secured with high strength thread locker
(such as 3M TL70).
• If you need to change the crank spider, you will require the tool Tune tool 04, MTV spider tool (no.
WZ0900). Please pay special attention to ensure the lock ring is assembled correctly. The thread undercut
must be adjacent to the crank spider.
• Please contact your nearest specialist retailer if you wish to exchange your spider.
