Push the tubing ends over the two filter connections and then screw down the screw nuts
tightly so that the tubing cannot become loosened accidentally.
Filter installation
Ensure that the filters are inserted in the correct flow direction. There is a flow direction arrow on the
filter label.

After connecting, the system including the air pump can be started up again.

10.5. Exchanging Disk Filter
System configuration
This section describes maintenance of disk filters of CaloSys modules working with pull principle (see
Section 11.1.2). The disk filters are located downstream of Air OUT of animal cages. Note that an
additional air protection filter may be included upstream of Air IN of vacuum pump (see Section 10.4).
NOTICE
- Instrument damage!
If disk filters are not replaced at regular intervals, contaminants could enter the Control Units
and affect their functions or cause damage.
Prior to an experiment, check flow rates. The filters must be replaced when the flow rates in one or
more cages are decreasing but LATEST after six months. Failure to do so will void the warranty.

Power OFF the complete system and disconnect the air pumps from the mains supply.
•
Push the inner two blue connector parts that are located close to the disk filter towards black
connector parts.

Remove used disk filter from system.
