2 Preparing for use
2.1 Electrical connection
Before connecting the machine to the power
supply, check that your supply voltage
corresponds with that marked on the rating label
on the underside of the motor head.
The power supply cord plus any extension leads
should not exceed 30m in total. The cross-section
of any extension cable wiring must be at least 2,5
mm
².
UK only
The supply cord for 230v models is fitted with a
plug containing a 13 amp fuse. Should the fuse
require replacement it must only be replaced by a
13 amp fuse conforming to BS1362, and the fuse
cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover is lost the
plug must not be used until the correct
replacement cover is fitted.
IMPORTANT - If the supply cord is damaged, it
must only be replaced by a suitable cord available
from the manufacturer or an authorised service
agent.
3 Controls
1. To turn the vacuum on, push the switch located
on the top of the vacuum to the (I) position.
2. To turn the vacuum off, push the switch to the
(0) position.
4 Operation
Please read the following operating instructions
carefully. They will help you to get the best
performance from this professional quality vacuum
cleaner and to maintain it in optimum condition.
1. Check the vacuum bag
Always ensure that the vacuum bag is empty
before vacuuming.
Remove the motor head by releasing the two
catches on the side of the vacuum. Lift out the
white main filter. Check that vacuum bag is in
place. If bag is full, remove and replace.
Replace main filter and motor head and secure
catches.
2. Push vacuum hose into machine inlet.
3. Plug the cord into a suitable power outlet.
Always unwind the cord completely before
vacuuming. It is important to maintain the
power cord in good condition. Use care when
pulling the cord around sharp edges and
through doorways
Never operate the Valet 10 if the power cord
is damaged in any way.
4. Attach the extension wand to the hose and fit
the floor tool or any of the other vacuuming
accessories on the wand.
5. Turn the vacuum on.
Your Valet 10 vacuum is fitted with a thermal
overload to protect the motor against damage
should the airflow be blocked for extended
periods. This may occur if the vacuum bag is
overfull or if the vacuum hose is blocked. The
vacuum motor will stop before it can get too hot. If
this happens, replace the vacuum bag or free any
blockage and ensure that adequate airflow is
restored. The motor will automatically restart after
it has cooled to a safe operating temperature.
5 Storage
•
After use check the bag. If full, replace the bag.
•
Coil the supply cord and loop over machine
ensuring that the plug is not trailing on the floor.
Alternatively wrap supply cord around the
machine.
•
Store the machine in a dry indoor area only.
