Introduction
This manual is intended for users of the ‘TRUST 4 PORT COMPACT USB HUB‘. The TRUST 4 PORT
COMPACT USB HUB can be used to expand the number of USB ports to your desktop PC or
notebook. It allows you to simply connect extra USB peripherals, such as your USB camera or USB
joystick, to your computer.
Safety
Carefully read the following instructions before use:
1.
Do not use the device in damp environments, such as bathrooms, damp basements,
swimming pools, etc.
2.
Never put any objects into the slots on the outside of the device, as you may touch upon
elements that are electrically charged. This may cause a fire or an electric shock.
3.
Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. When you open or remove the casing, you might
accidentally touch elements that are electrically charged. Other risks are also involved.
4.
Under the following circumstances have the device repaired by qualified personnel:
a)
The cable or plug is damaged or worn;
b)
Liquid has entered the device;
c)
The device has fallen and/or the casing has been damaged;
5.
Place the device in such a way that the cables cannot be damaged.
Installation
1.
Start up Windows 98, Me or 2000.
2.
Connect the USB connecting plug of the included USB cable to the USB connection of the 4
Port Compact USB Hub.
3.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to a free USB port of your computer.
4.
The new hardware will be located and Windows will automatically install the relevant setup
program.
The Trust 4 Port Compact USB Hub is ready for use.
External power supply
The Trust 4 Port Compact USB Hub can be connected to an external adapter of 5VDC / 2.0A max (not
included). You may use the power supply connection if your are using different heavy USB devices that
use a lot of power, such as USB scanners and USB printers.

4 PORT COMPACT USB HUB wird zur Erweiterung der Anzahl an USB-Ports Ihres Desktop-
Computers oder Notebooks verwendet. Sie können damit ganz einfach externe USB-Geräte, wie zum
Beispiel eine USB-Kamera oder einen USB-Joystick, an den Computer anschließen.
Sicherheitshinweise
Lesen Sie sich die folgenden Hinweise vor der Benutzung gut durch:

Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in feuchten Umgebungen wie Badezimmern, feuchten
Kellerräumen, Swimmingpools usw.
2.
Stecken Sie niemals Gegenstände in die Gehäuseöffnungen. Sie könnten spannungsführende
Teile berühren. Dies kann zu Brand oder elektrischen Schlägen führen.
3.
Führen Sie keine Reparaturen an diesem Gerät aus. Wenn Sie das Gehäuse öffnen oder
abnehmen, können Sie spannungsführende Teile berühren. Zugleich laufen Sie andere
Risiken.
4.
Lassen Sie in folgenden Fällen das Gerät von qualifizierten Servicetechnikern reparieren:
a)
Das Kabel ist beschädigt oder abgenutzt;
b)
es ist Feuchtigkeit in das Gerät eingetreten;
c)
das Gerät ist hingefallen, und/oder das Gehäuse wurde beschädigt;
5.
Stellen Sie das Gerät so auf, dass die Kabel nicht beschädigt werden können.
Installation
1.
Starten Sie Windows 98, ME oder 2000.
2.
Schließen Sie den USB-Anschlussstecker des mitgelieferten USB-Kabels an den USB-
Anschluss des 4 Port Compact USB Hub an.
3.
Schließen das andere Ende des USB-Kabels an einen freien USB-Port des Computers an.
4.
Die neue Hardware wird gefunden und der zugehörige Treiber wird von Windows automatisch
installiert.
Der Trust 4 Port Compact USB Hub ist betriebsbereit.
Externe Speisung
Der verfügt über einen Anschluss für einen externen Netzadapter von max. 5 V- / 2,0 A (nicht im
Lieferumfang enthalten). Diesen Netzadapteranschluss können Sie verwenden, wenn Sie mehrere
USB-Geräte mit hohem Stromverbrauch einsetzen, wie zum Beispiel USB-Scanner und USB-Drucker.
