7 Troubleshooting

Televiewer has been
connected properly. See
chapter 4 for the options.
No picture.
The TV has not been
adjusted properly.
Check whether the TV has
been set to the correct video
setting.
No image via a
notebook.
The external VGA has
not been switched on.
Switch on the external VGA
on the notebook.
The computer’s resolution
and refresh rate are too
high.
The Televiewer supports a
maximum resolution of
1600x1200 at 60Hz. For
optimum image quality, it is
not recommended to exceed
1024x768 at 75Hz.
The TV’s image settings
are incorrect.
Adjust the brightness and
contrast of the TV set.
Poor quality TV
image.
The TV’s PAL / NTSC
settings are incorrect.
If your TV set supports
several standards, set your
TV to the PAL standard.
See the instruction manual
provided with your TV set.
The Televiewer’s
VGA connection
cannot be
connected to a Mac
system.
Mac systems use a
different type of
connection for VGA than
IBM compatible PCs.
Use VGA converter plugs for
the VGA connection (not
provided).
The composite or S-VHS
extension cable is too
long or of a poor quality.
Do not use a composite or
S-VHS extension cable
which is longer than 5
meters.
No image or poor
quality image after
extending the cable.
A VGA extension cable is
used.
The VGA connection of the
Televiewer MUST NEVER
BE EXTENDED.
