Disconnect the FFC from the display module. See

Remove the display module.

Remove the FFC as this is re-used.

Ensure all plastic swarf is removed from screw bosses.
To refit the display module:

Reconnect the FFC to the new display module. See

Reconnect the beeper loom.

Ensure that the beeper loom is not trapped under a screw boss or across the display.

Ensure that no specs of dust or debris or finger prints are going to be trapped between the LCD
and the case window (gently blowing with compressed air aerosol may be useful for this).

Refit the 5 screws securing the display module to the top case. If available, use a torque limited
screwdriver set to 0.5 Nm (4 lbf-in).

Reconnect the FFC to the main module. See

Close the case. See page 24.

XRS EID Stick Reader only: Test the LCD. See page 20. Check that the LED lights are working.
SRS EID Stick Reader only: Check that the LED lights are working.
Replacing the top case

Remove the display module and refit it into a new top case. See page 29.

Remove the main module and FRP tube assembly. Slide off the tube gasket as this is re-used.

Grasp the sides of the main module where it protrudes out of the tube and pull gently. The main
module consists of the main PCA and an antenna assembly. This all needs to be pulled out of the
tube.
