Inserting the Depth Scale
The Depth Scale (6) can be changed for either an imperial or metric scale (Image D).
1. Remove the current Depth Scale, if present, by prying out of the Depth Scale holder
2. Select the required Depth Scale and push fit into the Depth Scale holder
Set-up for dust extraction
Note:
Dust extraction is achieved via an Extractor Port (10) located on either side of the Jig (1).
1. Insert the Extractor Adaptor (12) into an Extractor Port (10) (Image E)
2. Connect the hose of the Dust Extractor tool (not supplied) to the Extractor Adaptor
Note:
Check the instructions with your Dust Extractor for details of how to connect to the
Extractor Adaptor.
WARNING:
Do not block the Extractor Port on the opposite side, as this is required to
enable a free flow of air through the Jig.
Operation
WARNING:
It is recommended to secure the Jig (1) and Work Supports (15) to a stable, flat
surface, using the Fixing Holes (11).
WARNING:
DO NOT have the Drill running when inserting or removing the Drill Bit (20)
from the drill guides.
1. Place the Drill Bit (20) in the Depth Gauge (5) using the Depth Scale (6) to determine the
correct hole for the depth of wood being drilled
2. Slide the Depth Collar (21) onto the Drill Bit and secure using a Hex Key (18) (Image F)
3. Engage the SpeedDrive™ (4) (Image G).
Note:
Use the release button on the SpeedDrive™ to insert or release the Drill Bit (Image H).
4. Place the Drill Bit into one of the drill guides and adjust the Depth Adjuster (7), to the
required depth, using the depth scale on the side of the Depth Adjuster (Image I)
Note:
The tip of the drill bit should just enter the corresponding groove at the base of the
Jaws (Image I).
5. Retract the Drill Bit until it locks in place
6. Place the workpiece into the Jaws of the Jig and close the Jaws using the Adjuster (2)
(Image J). Ensure there is just enough space between the Jaws and the workpiece so that
the workpiece can be easily moved or replaced
Note:
Use the optional Work Stops (14) to position the workpiece (Image A).
7. Use the Jaw Lever (3) to secure the wood (Image K)
8. Connect your drill (not supplied) to the Drill Bit
9. Start the drill and slowly engage the Drill Bit until the Collar contacts the Jig
Note:
The drill will automatically disengage the lock when it starts spinning.
Note:
Use the drill on the fast setting and maintain a high speed whilst drilling.
10. Retract the Drill Bit until it engages with the lock and switch OFF the drill
11. Release the Jaw Lever and reposition or remove the workpiece
12. After drilling all the holes, the piece is ready for assembly using the pocket-hole screws
and plugs (Image L). See the table below for the recommended screw size
Note:
The Jig can be used without the SpeedDrive™ by disengaging the lock (Image G).
Note:
The Pocket Hole Jig can be used for joining panels (Image M).
Note:
When planning the placement of your pocket holes, keep in mind that the screws should
go into the edge grain or the face grain, but not into the end grain (Image N). Using the end
grain can result in a weak joint.

For hard wood use a fine thread, and for soft wood use a coarse thread.

Intended Use
Table-mounted pocket-hole jig for repeated use in joinery work. Can be used for joints such as
panel fixing and corners.
Before Use
WARNING:
Always adhere to all safety advice and instructions for any power tool used in
conjunction with this product.
IMPORTANT:
Always practise on a scrap piece of wood before making a pocket hole in the
workpiece.
Assembling the Work Supports
The optional Work Supports (15) add stability to the workpiece and provides consistency when
drilling multiple workpieces of the same length (Image A).
1. Align the locating pin on the end of the Work Support, with the hole in the Bracket (9) on
the side of the Jig (1), and push down (Image B)
Note:
The holes in the joint can be used to screw the Work Support/Jig onto the workbench.
2. Slide a Work Stop (14) onto the Work Support and secure in the required position (Image A)
Note:
There are two different-sized Work Stops. Select the one most suited to the size of the
workpiece.
Note:
The Work Supports can be placed either side of the Jig, or both on one side by joining
the Work Supports together using the Joiners (13) (Image C).
Note:
Additional Work Supports and Joiners can be purchased to extend the Work Support.
