OPERATION
Review all SAFETY information in Section II before operating a WSP™ Self-Primer
pump.
Follow instructions on all tags, labels and decals affixed to your pump before using.
YOUR PUMP HAS BEEN ENGINEERED TO PUMP LIQUIDS THAT CONTAIN SOLIDS OR
SLURRIES. AT NO TIME SHOULD THE LIQUID BE UNSTABLE, CORROSIVE, OR
COMBUSTIBLE. FAILURE TO DO SO WOULD DAMAGE THE PUMP OR RESULT IN
INJURY.
PUMP PERFORMANCE INCLUDING SPEED AND OPERATING CONDITIONS ARE
REQUIRED TO BE WITHIN THE RANGE SHOWN ON THE MANUFACTURER’S PUMP
PERFORMANCE CURVE.
A. Priming
Both pump and piping must be installed as required in Section H.,
INSTALLATION. Be sure the pump is firmly mounted and all pipe connections
are airtight. Inspect pump lubrication as instructed in Section F., LUBRICATION.
Your WSP™ pump is self-priming but must
always
have liquid in the pump
casing when in use.
THIS PUMP SHOULD ALWAYS BE OPERATED WITH LIQUID IN THE PUMP CASING.
WHEN OPERATING THE PUMP DRY, THE PUMP WILL NOT PRIME.
Increase liquid in the pump casing under the following conditions:
1. When your pump is going to be operating for the first time.
2. When the pump has been dormant for long period of time.
3. Whenever there is no liquid in the pump casing.
The pump will continue to prime itself once the pump casing has adequate
liquid.
