OPENING UMBRELLA
IMPORTANT: PRIOR TO OPENING.
To avoid personal injury or damage to the umbrella, make sure there is approximately 59”
clearance behind umbrella from any furniture or structure.
With one hand on the pole and the other on the cantilever arm (Fig. 6), slowly lift cantilever
arm up until release column locks into place upward (Fig. 7).
Insert crank handle into the “ARM” socket, located on arm housing. While holding pole with
one hand, turn crank handle clockwise with other hand until cantilever arm is fully extended
outward (Fig. 8).
Insert crank handle into the “OPEN/CLOSED” socket, located on the operation housing
(Fig. 9). Turn crank handle clockwise until the umbrella canopy is fully opened and the
lower hub is at the top most position (Fig 10).

CLOSING UMBRELLA
IMPORTANT:
When closing the umbrella, the canopy must be in a horizontal position, or
damage to umbrella may occur.
Insert crank handle into the “OPEN/CLOSED” socket, located on the operation housing
(Fig. 16). Turn crank handle counter-clockwise until the umbrella canopy is closed (Fig. 17).
Insert crank handle into the “ARM” socket, located on arm housing. While holding pole with
one hand, turn crank handle counter-clockwise with other hand until cantilever arm is fully
retracted (Fig. 18).
With one hand on the cantilever arm and the other on the release column, pull down on the
release column to disengage (Fig. 19), and guide cantilever arm downward (Fig. 20) until
umbrella is in a closed position (Fig. 21).
CAUTION:
Avoid pinching hands or fingers while closing the umbrella. Once umbrella is
closed, tie strap around canopy and cover with a protective cover
(sold separately)
