drilling the wing for proper hole spacing.
1. Install the wing onto the wing
mount and secure it using the
included countersunk plastic
washers and the 4x12mm
countersunk screws (J).
Do not
overtighten the screws.
Reinstalling the wing mount assembly
1. Slide the body mount back onto the
chassis and secure with the three
previously used 4x14mm button-head
screws (K).
2. Reinstall body posts and set to proper
height using the 2.5x18mm screw pins.
3. Reinstall the tuned pipe hanger using
its 4x10mm button-head screw.
Bumper modification and installation (optional)
1. Remove the rear
bumper from the
bumper mount
(removed in step A3).
2. Use side cutters to cut the top
“hoop” off the rear bumper (L).
You may wish to use sand paper
to smooth the rough edges.
3. Install the modified rear bumper onto
the wing mount bumper posts (M).
B. Body Mount Modification
If your rear body mount does not have holes in the mount
brace (N), you will need to drill the holes as follows:
1. To determine hole placement,
slide the left and right wing mount
plates onto the body mount and
install the vertical 3x25mm screws
into the bumper mount (O). (This
will align the wing mount for easier
drilling.)
2. Make sure that the upper part of the
wing mount plates are straight and
evenly spaced on the body mount.
3. Using the 1/8" drill bit, drill 1/4"
into the body mount as shown (P).
This is just enough to drill through
the body mount,
do not drill too
far into the other side of the wing
mount
. (
Tip
: You can wrap tape
around the drill bit 1/4" from the tip
to set the “drill to” depth of 1/4".)
When using power tools, always
follow the tool manufacturer’s
instructions, and always wear safety glasses.
4. Install the supplied 3x15mm button-head screws into the new holes.
5. You may now proceed with step 6 in section A, Assemble the
wing and body mount.

Tools Needed
• 2mm hex wrench
• 2.5mm hex wrench
• Philips screwdriver
• 1/8" drill bit
• Masking tape
• Safety glasses
• Power drill or
rotory tool
A. Assemble the Wing and Body Mount
1. Remove the rear body posts by
removing the two 2.5x18mm
screw pins (A).
2. Remove the tuned pipe mount (B)
and three 4x14mm button-head
screws (C, circled). Slide the body
mount rearward to remove (D).
3. Remove the bumper mount from the
body mount by removing the two
3x25mm button-head screws (E).
4. Locate the left and right wing
mount plates. Slide the wing
mounts onto the left and right side
of the body mount
(F) and install the
3x25mm button-
head screws from
the bumper mount
into the vertical
holes in the body
mount (G).
5. Install the supplied 3x15mm
button-head screws through
the front of the wing mount and
into the body mount (H). (
Note:
If the body mount has no holes,
skip to section B,
Body mount
modification
).
6. Install the center wing support to
the wing mount plates using the
4x12mm button-head screws in
the upper holes. Use the 3x12mm
button-head screws in the lower
holes (I). The wing mount is
adjustable by changing these mounting locations.
(See section C for details on adjustment.)
Installing a wing to the wing mount
The following instructions show wing
installation using Traxxas wing, part
#5412 (not included with part #5411).
