An internal filter isolates the 2 red outlets from the 4 white and 2 gray outlets. All 8 outlets
offer the benefits of the surge protection and AC noise filtration, however we recommend that you plug
your digital and video components into the red outlets; your preamplifiers and processors into the gray
outlets; and your amplifiers, tuner or any component that requires switching into the white outlets.
6
The switch labeled
NOISE FILTERING
controls the level of noise filtering that the P8 provides.
In the
RF
position the P8 provides radio frequency AC noise filtering. In the
WIDEBAND
position
the P8 provides filtering starting at approximately 1000Hz. We recommend using the wideband
filtering position for best audio and video performance.
7
The green LED labeled
PROTECTION ACTIVE
indicates that the surge protection circuitry is
functioning properly. The LED will illuminate whenever the power switch is turned on and the P8
is plugged into an active wall outlet. If the green LED does not illuminate discontinue use of the
P8 and contact your Transparent dealer or Transparent Audio

3-to-2 prong ground-lift adaptors or “cheater plugs” are often used to defeat undesirable ground
loops. Do not use these devices on the P8 power cord. Defeating the ground will void the
Connected Equipment Warranty. If such adaptors are necessary to prevent hum, use them only on
the power cords of the components causing the hum at the point where they plug into the P8.
