USER’S MANUAL
CHARGING PROCEDURE
1. Install the appropriate battery adapter in the charger unit.
The battery adapter MUST be locked in place using the locking screw to ensure good electrical contact (refer to fig. 1).
2. Connect the AC adapter to the charger jack on the rear of the unit.
3. Connect the AC adapter to an AC outlet.
4. The LED indicator will be orange for a few seconds during unit diagnosis, and will turn off when the unit is ready for operation.
(Note that the LED will remain orange, until the battery adapter is correctly installed.)
5. Slide a battery pack or a transceiver equipped with a battery pack into the battery adapter.
6. The LED indicator will be orange during battery diagnosis, which may last from a few seconds to a few minutes.
7. The LED indicator will be red during charging.
8. The LED indicator will be green and flashing when charging capacity is over 80%.
9. The LED indicator will be green when charging is completed.
10. The user may remove the battery when the LED indicator is green (steady or flashing).
NOTE:
1. In case of a battery fault, the LED will flash red. The error codes (number of flashes) are listed below:
2. IMPORTANT - After a charged battery is removed, the LED indicator may remain on for a few seconds.
The user MUST wait for the LED to turn off, before putting another battery in the charging slot.
3. Using the charger outside the specified temperature range (15-30°C) may lead to erratic operation,
and the batteries may be undercharged.

Over current error during precharge -
The battery may have a short circuit between the «P+» and «P-» contacts.

Precharge time out -
Precharge operation failed because the battery level remains low.

Overheat error while charging Li-lon battery -
The battery temperature is above 43°C, which is abnormal while charging a Li-lon battery.

Battery contact is open -
No charging current passes through the «P+» and «P-» contacts.

Battery is under-charged -
Charging is completed, but the final battery voltage is below normal.
