Pre Start

Verifying Proper Air Flow (Units 
with Belt Drive Indoor Fan)

Much of the systems performance and reliability is closely 
associated with, and dependent upon having the proper 
airflow supplied both to the space that is being 
conditioned and across the evaporator coil.

The indoor fan speed is changed by opening or closing the 
adjustable motor sheave.

Before starting the SERVICE TEST, set the minimum 
position setpoint for the economizer to 0% using the 
setpoint potentiometer located on the Economizer Control 
(ECA), if applicable.

Electromechanical Controls 

Test Procedure

See unit schematic for correct wire numbers.

Fan Test and Minimum Ventilation. 

Connect red 

thermostat wire (R) to black thermostat wire (G).

Economizer Cooling. 

Connect a jumper wire across 

OAT on Economizer Control (ECA).
Connect red thermostat (R) wire to yellow thermostat wire 
(Y1).

Cool 1. 

Connect red thermostat wire (R) to yellow 

thermostat wire (Y1).

Cool 2. 

Connect red thermostat wire (R) to yellow 

thermostat wire (Y2).

Heat 1. 

Connect red thermostat wire (R) to brown 

thermostat wire (W1).

Heat 2. 

Connect red thermostat wire (R) to brown 

thermostat wire (W2).
