BASIC SAFETy RULES
During any maintenance, cleaning, transportation, storage and regulation of the lawn mower, turn off
the engine and remove the spark plug cable.
Never refuel with the engine in operation.
Turn off the engine and let it cool for at least 2 minutes before removing the fuel tank cover.
The gas and its vapors are highly inflammable and explosive. The fire or an explosion can cause serious burn or
be fatal.
Start up and operate the engine outdoors. Never start up or operate the engine in closed areas, even if the
windows and/or doors are opened. The engines release carbon monoxide, an odorless and colorless toxic gas.
Breathing carbon monoxide can result in nauseas, fainting and may even be fatal.
Keep children or animals away from the lawn mower while in operation.
Do not allow inexperienced people to use the lawn mower without reading the instruction manual first. When not
in use, keep the lawn mower out of the reach of children.
When applicable, do not operate the mower without the complete grass catcher installed, or without the
automatic-close discharge opening cover installed.
Before beginning to mow the lawn, clear the area of any rocks, twigs, branches, wires, toys, or any other such
objects.
Wear non-slip shoes when using the equipment on steep terrain, mow in transversal directions (never upwards
or downwards), and be extra careful when changing direction. Avoid working on areas that are too steep. Watch
your step, mainly on hillsides. Always wear adequate clothing.
To change the blade, always wear protective gloves.
Always wear closed shoes while working on the equipment. The use of safety goggles is highly recommended.
Ear protection is recommended. Never use the mower in the rain or on damp lawns, when there is a risk of
lightning, and only use it during the day in good light.
Never use the equipment if the safety devices are not in perfect condition.
Do not operate the equipment if the safety devices are damaged.
Do not use the mower when tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
Do not change or disable the mower’s safety systems. Worn or damaged parts must be replaced.
We recommend the use of Tramontina spare parts of the same model.
