INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
BUMPER IS HEAVY, ASSISTANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO AVOID POSSIBLE INJURY OR
DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
Vehicle Preparation
1.
Drop the spare tire.
2.
Unplug the factory license plate lights from the backside of the light housing from the bottom of the truck. Turn counter
clockwise until loose. Assistance is highly recommended to avoid any damage to the vehcle.
3.
If equipped, disconnect the wiring harness from the back up sensors. This can either be done by unplugging the connectors
at each sensor or removing the sensor from trim piece holding them into the bumper.
4.
Remove the OEM tag light..
5.
Remove the 7 plastic Christmas tree plugs holding the harness to the inside of the bumper and unscrew the ground-wire
using a 10mm socket. Fish the harness out of the bumper and out of the way.
6.
Remove the 6 bolts (3 per side) holding the factory bumper to the receiver hitch using a 10mm socket
(Fig 1)
.
7.
Using two people, each holding one corner of the bumper, lift and rotate towards the back of the vehicle. Note: There are
two plastic locating fingers that pass through the hitch that need to be freed for the bumper to come off.
8.
Your truck is now ready to have the Trail FX Rear Bumper installed!
